Both Lobe and Cartilage piercings are available.
We have been piercing ears for over 30 years and can offer both Lobe and Cartilage piercings.
Young babies and children are accepted with consent from both parents, proof of full vaccinations and a parent or guardian present for lobe piercings only. Cartilage Piercings will only be performed on ages 14-17 with a parent of guardian present.
Lobe piercings are carried out with a Caflon© Gun and a variety of their official piercing Studs made from Surgical steel and 18carat Gold. We do pierce the ears individually not together as only one therapist can be present.
Cartilage is always pierced with a needle. A piercing gun isn’t designed for cartilage, only soft tissue Lobal. If pierced with a gun, hypertrophic scarring can form and even worse, the risk of what we call ‘cauliflower ear’ where the cartilage is shattered. There is stigma about needles but they’re actually less painful than first thought, as they’re designed to pierce skin, whereas a gun just delivers blunt force to push an earring through. We do have the option to numb our Cartilage piercings only.
